What Glasgow is saying is that if you know where you're going and how your getting there is the first step in doing something good in your life. If you have no goals in life you won't go anywhere because it shows you may not be interested in pursuing greatness in your life. By putting the goal post you know where in life you will go. Like in football the players must go to the goal post that's the goal they have and the more goals they make the closer to victory they are. You destination must have an end you're not going to drive everywhere hoping to find nothing but with a goal you can go to victory.
