Thanksgiving
The first thanksgiving was on 1621 in Plymouth or modern day Massachusetts. It was the pilgrim's first successful harvest. The local Native American tribe helped them by showing them techniques on farming. The two had a great feast which consisted of venison, Indian corn, fowl, and barley. It was a three day festival consisting of hunting, eating, and entertainment. At first Thanksgiving wasn't celebrated. George washington celebrated thanksgiving and made it on the fourth thursday of november but it ddn't become traditional until the 19th century when an American writer Sarah Josepha Hale wrote a book to make the thanksgiving traditional.
