What this means to me is that if you lost at least you lost by playing fair. For example if you lost at the mile run and someone else won first place but they used steroids to win what is more important is you have integrity and you do what is right. Cheating to win never makes you a winner even if it gets you a first place medal.

If you play by the rules then you always win.
